Whiskey Creek, Runs Red

On January 16, 1919 the 18th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution prohibited the manufacture, sale and transportation of “intoxicating liquors for beverage purposes”. In New York City, between 1921-1923, there were 7000 arrests but only 27 convictions. The story of the “Whisky Creek Gang” was not part of that public record.
