Deathtrap Lite Preview: Survival and Exploration in the Devouring Wild

This is a preview of my upcoming Deathtrap Lite TTRPG. It is not a complete version of Deathtrap Lite, but is designed to showcase one of its most unique elements: Making surviving in the wilderness challenging and exciting.

This version of the game includes:

  • Character Generation
  • One Character Class
  • Deathtrap Lite’s Over-6 Task-resolution Engine
  • The Watch Timeframe
  • Simplified Fatigue rules
  • Wildreness and Exploration
  • A short overview of the Mondas campaign setting

It is completely playable, and, with a little adjustment can be plugged into another OSR-compatible game to provideĀ 

What it does not include:

  • Warrior, Mage, or Thief classes
  • Combat
  • Magic and Alchemy
  • Wounds and Healing
  • Stress and Madness
  • The full rules for Advancement and Levelling Up
  • Monsters
  • Traps
  • Treasure

Some of these will be made available in future previews of the game.

Deathtrap Lite does not use Old-School Rules, but it is compatible with them. The final version will allow you to pick up any Old-School adventure and play it with minimal conversion work. It is based on its own unique Engine, and is designed for unity and speed of play.
