Eater of Hope

View all 3 images on Patreon One of the most deadly manifested dreams to ever appear, the eater of hope exists to devour, well, hope. Not just metaphorically, in that a draconic monster of this size and power brings dread and fear, but literally in a way as well. It assaults the mind as it assaults the body, each bite it deals stripping away such emotions, leaving the victims falling into a depression. Just the sight of it can kill, weaker creatures succumbing to despair and giving up, their bodies simply shutting down. What can mere mortals do in the face of such horror?
Only two eaters of hope have been recorded so far, and their appearances were devastating to an extreme level. One was slain by the intercession of several powerful forces restraining it and preventing it from escaping, while the other killed nearly an entire city of people with its presence alone before flying away and leaving the survivors to spread its story. It hasn’t been seen again since, but rumors of villages found empty of life, all inhabitants lying dead with no sign of injury but a look of resigned despair on their faces have begun to spread. If the monster isn’t somehow brought down, the fear it’s inspiring may lead to another nightmare, and multiple of these creatures active at once is potentially beyond what anyone could hope to confront.
The eater of hope is obviously a dragon outside of Dreamblade. That’s just obvious. A monster even by dragon standards, only the greatest ancient dragons would dare to confront it, making it one of the top predators to exist. Originally from the Dreamblade base set.
