Ekkyon Wayfarer

Ekkyon Wayfarer is a concerning development in manifested dreams. While it’s hardly the first dream to speak, or even introduce itself by a name, the nature of it is far more specific. Ekkyon aligns itself with hellbred dreams, seeming to take a leadership role for them and drives them to coordinated campaigns against non-aberrant creatures. It has been destroyed several times in these campaigns, but when it reappears it carries the specific memories and knowledge of all previous manifestations. Rather than simply another distinct creature sharing the same appearance and goals, as most dreams are, Ekkyon appears to be a truly unique creature that is learning and growing. Each campaign it has led was more destructive and successful than the prior one, taking advantage of what it learned from failed attempts. Attempts to negotiate with it have met with failure, as while it will speak with others it will not call off its campaigns for any reason. It wants nothing less than utter destruction, though not for any reason it can name. This is simply its nature, and only finding a way to permanently banish it will stop its mission.
Ekkyon is a fiend outside of Dreamblade, obviously, and is more suited to the yugoloth or devil factions. Either a hired commander that can lead its fiends on a campaign or a Baatorian soldier with a legion of devils under its command. Originally from the Dreamblade base set.

While within 30 feet of Ekkyon and able to see or hear it, whenever a hellbred creature attacks a creature and scores a critical hit, it deals an extra 9 (2d8) damage with that attack. Hellbred. Ekkyon Wayfarer is treated as a fiend as well as an aberration. Legendary Resistance (1/Day). If Ekkyon Wayfarer fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead. Actions Multiattack. Ekkyon Wayfarer makes two Greataxe attacks. Greataxe. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (1d12+4) slashing damage plus 7 (2d6) fire damage and 7 (2d6) necrotic damage. Legendary Actions Ekkyon Wayfarer can take 1 legendary action, choosing from the options below. Ekkyon Wayfarer regains the spent legendary action at the start of its turn. Mark Target. Ekkyon Wayfarer designates one creature it can see within 30 feet of it. All hellbred creatures except Ekkyon have advantage on attack rolls against that target until the end of Ekkyon’s next turn. Stride. Ekkyon Wayfarer moves up to its speed.

Natural Even Hit: The target also takes 5 ongoing damage (easy save ends, 6+). C: Mark Target +10 vs. MD (one nearby enemy) – Ekkyon’s allies gain a +2 bonus to attack rolls against the target until the start of Ekkyon’s next turn. Limited Use: 1/round, as a quick action, when the escalation die is even. Hell’s Fury: Nearby allies expand their crit range by 3, and deal an additional 5 damage with critical hits.
