In 1859, Joel Estes founded a community in a valley in the Rockies. In 1867, Griff Evans recognised the potential of the valley for tourism. He built cabins and offered tours for fishing and hunting.

Estes Park increasingly developed into a purely recreational area. With ski slopes, hotels and camping facilities, it offered stressed out Denver families everything they needed to unwind.

Inspired by the great Fallout franchise.
