PATREON: Our monthly live chat was this past weekend! Apart from that, I’ll try to squeak in some more off-schedule chats. Other stuff of note here: Stream drafts continuing. I’m also seeing a few new supporters here, which is super great! This also means we’re inching closer to our community goal! If 5 more people jump in, I’ll write up an extra TTRPG each month and release it to all Patrons. I’d love to see that happen.
DISCORD: As always, the Discord is an online space where you can find me pretty readily. I encourage you to come on in and hang out! https://discord.gg/ajpksPF
BLOG: That’s right, this is back on the list! It’s been on hiatus for almost 3 months now, and I think it’s time to address that. So here’s the plan. I’m going to go in and clean house. This will probably take some time, but I want to optimize some things there. Hopefully prune some dead plugins, lead to better loading times, that sort of thing. Then I’ll archive some old posts. I was having some weird issues with uploading some content in the run-up to the hiatus, so I think I’m hitting a data cap somewhere (pretty sure it’s just to do with image hosting, but since I post images with each post…) But I need to go in and suss out what’s what. Archiving some old posts will make room for things, I think. So what’ll happen to the archived stuff? I’ll probably take it off-site. I don’t know where exactly yet, but if push comes to shove, I’ll just have a google doc or something with old posts. I do want to make sure whatever gets removed is still available in some form, but I’m not too concerned about the “how.” I also don’t know what the cut-off for archival will be just yet. Again, this may take some time to work out. After that’s done, I’d like to overhaul some of the functionality of the blog. Maybe make it more of a proper hub for things I’m involved in, and implement some of those features I mused about in past editions of these updates. Posts will also return, though I’m not sure yet if it’ll be on the same schedule as before, or if it’ll even be on a schedule at all. It might just be updated as I get around to it. But I do think I want to breathe some life back into it.
LOST SHIP FROM ARTHENELOS: Done up and published. Patrons have access to an earlier version of it via the stream drafts, but if you want the final version, those are available on itch.io and DrivethruRPG.
PILLARS OF THE STORM: Of course, publishing that other adventure means we move onto the next one. I’ve went ahead and dragged it out of docs and am did a little bit of formatting already, but the bulk of the editing, handouts, sourcing images, and all that other fun stuff has yet to be done. That work will come this week, if plans hold.
FICTION: So I’ve been wanting to devote some time to this recently, and I’ve got some ideas for what I might do. I’ve got a novel idea brewing I might work on in some spare time, and I’m bouncing around a few concepts for short stories. Most likely, those will be horror, because that’s how I roll. Though I am maybe considering some steamy NSFW things, since I’ve dipped my toes in that before too. Decisions, decisions. Anyway, fiction is kind of on the backburner right now, but it’s still on the stove and cooking, so we might see something come of it.
OTHER PROJECTS: Directly on my list this week are a commission and a pitch I need to run through. Other stuff that might get some work include the wargame I mentioned, or dusting off one of several shelves projects that have been drawing my attention again. There’s also a possibility of some effort being put in towards some more “logistics” side of things. I’m trying to learn Affinity publisher so I can do my own layout work, and that’s something that may take some time. I’d also like to reach out to a few other people about some opportunities I’ve been considering. not so much “pitches” as collaboration opportunities or asking for some help on a couple things. We’ll see what pans out.
PERSONAL LIFE AND GAMING: Gaming this week will consist of iHunt this weekend. Super hyped for that, we’ve had to keep pushing it off, and I’m glad that the group can finally get together for it. On the personal side of things, I need to talk a bit. This past week was real bad from a mental health point of view. I bounced back and I’m doing relatively well now, I think. Regardless, I lost a couple of days worth of productivity to it, so I’m playing catch up a little bit. But I intend to dive in head first and tackle things. I’ll be doing my best to maintain a positive headspace moving forward, so don’t worry or anything.
I think that about covers it for now! Thank you for reading, and I hope to have more for you soon! Stay safe out there!
