The Adventurer’s Almanac

Mealtimes and nutrition are not the main focus of the typical D&D game, but allowing characters to engage in occasional culinary creativity can increase immersion, grant opportunities to roleplay, and even advance the plot. These rules are not intended to serve as a model to track nutrition, but rather as an accessory to roleplaying or combat encounters. Maybe characters are cooking a lavish meal to impress (or poison) a noble, or they grow bored of trail rations and decide to cook up the monsters they just killed. With this Almanac, anything is possible!

The rules presented in this document are only those that are strictly necessary for DMs to run cooking, hunting, fishing, or foraging encounters. However, those who want these rules expanded upon in more detail can check out the Adventurer’s Almanac Supplements found elsewhere in our DM’s Guild shop.
