While running the Tomb of Annihilation for my home game I was looking over the stat block for Acererak, and I realized that it isn’t in the ideal setup for efficient running of the powerful lich. So, I went in and modified the stat block from the back of the Tomb of Annihilation.
I removed some of the content to make it easier to focus on what will come in useful for DMs running the end of the Tomb of Annihilation. The content that remained I moved around a little bit to get a bit of a better flow. His spell list is no longer just one big bundle of spells with no indication of what spells will be of best use in a certain situation. Now the spell list is more organized, broken down into actions, reactions, and I even added a couple of bonus actions as well to allow Acererak to utilize his full turn.
This modified one-page stat block now also features places for DMs to track the usage of Acererak’s spell slots and the charges of his staff.
In addition to the modified stat block, you will also find a quick rundown that does a better job of explaining and highlighting all the changes made from the original.
