Sci-fi VTT Game Aids 1 – Hex, Terrain and Hazard Markers

This package makes it easy for a Gamesmaster to mark areas of difficult or hazardous terrain, enabling all players to quickly identify and assess various routes through your map. Alternatively, they can be used to mark borders, waypoints or other locations of interest.

These image assets are intended for use on virtual tabletops (VTT) like Roll20, Astral or Fantasy Grounds, and are supplied at 72 DPI in .png format. All assets have a pixel size of 512 in at least one dimension, with the exception of terrain scale and hazard class markers/descriptions where the size is 256 pixels.

HEX assets – provided for those who wish to build their own hex grids within a VTT, which can prove useful if the VTT default grids are causing issues for token placement and movement (particularly where larger tokens are involved, and are being resized/repositioned when moved). Hex dividers are also supplied which subdivide a hex up into multiple smaller zones.

TERRAIN (orange) & HAZARD (purple) assetsUsed to denote hazardous zones or areas that are more difficult to move through. Whilst developed primarily for the Modiphius Star Trek Adventures role-playing game, they are generic and can be used in any game/setting (although probably better suit a sci-fi theme). They will allow your players to quickly identify and assess various routes through your VTT map.

ORANGE assets – map overlay images which can be used to represent areas of difficult terrain (for example – rocky crags, asteroid fields). These can be arranged on hexes or squares, and the combination of assets allow features to extend over larger areas without looking cluttered. Scale markers indicating how difficult it is to traverse these areas are also included.

PURPLE assets – map overlay images which can be used to represent hazardous areas (for example – radiation fields, stellar phenomena, magical areas). These can be arranged on hexes or squares, and the combination of assets allows features to extend over larger areas without looking cluttered.

Several markers are provided to distinguish between different kinds of stellar hazard phenomena, and which starship systems these affect.

Also included are markers to indicate hazard severity, which dictate how difficult tasks involving the affected systems are.
